Atelier Nicola Pedrali

Recycling, Mixed Media, and Sculptural Themes

Nicola Pedrali’s work focuses on the practice of recycling mechanical components and discarded found objects, imbuing them with their own history within new forms and diverse contexts, and creating a dialogue between disparate materials such as steel, concrete, resins, and others. His body of work features cross-cutting themes that connect even years far apart, as seen in the “Morse” and “Naviganti” series: the former grasp and cling to something that metaphorically flows and slips away; the latter, conversely, allow themselves to be led precisely by that which flows and slips away. The space in Vicolo delle Tezze in Palazzolo sull’Oglio brings together his sculptural works marked by a shift toward three-dimensionality, dating from the years following his academic studies, in which forms draw inspiration from the postures of the human body through experimentation with diverse materials such as plaster, terracotta, marble, fiberglass, and bronze, up to his latest constructions using cement and iron elements.
