How to get to Franciacorta

Franciacorta is easily accessible by both car and train, thanks to its strategic location between Brescia and Lake Iseo.

By car

From the A4 Milan–Venice motorway, you can exit at Palazzolo, Rovato, Ospitaletto or Brescia Ovest, depending on your destination. The provincial roads provide quick links between the various parts of the region, making it easy to travel between the hills, villages and wineries.

By train

Franciacorta is served by the Milan–Venice railway line, with stops at Rovato, Chiari and Brescia, providing frequent connections to the main cities of Lombardy. The area is also connected by the Brescia–Bergamo line, with stops at Coccaglio, Cologne and Palazzolo, as well as the Brescia–Iseo–Edolo line, which is ideal for reaching both the towns on the shores of Lake Iseo and the heart of Franciacorta.

Getting around Franciacorta

Franciacorta is easy to explore thanks to a network of scenic roads, cycle paths and local rail links. Travelling by car allows you to move around independently between villages, hills and wineries, whilst the train is a convenient way to reach the main towns and resorts on Lake Iseo.

For a slower, more sustainable exploration, Franciacorta is also ideal for experiencing by bike or on foot, along routes immersed in the wine-growing landscape. Taxi services, car hire and bike-sharing schemes complete the range of transport options in the area.

In December 2011, the municipalities of Franciacorta presented a feasibility study for the region to the local community, focusing on the promotion of the area’s cultural and environmental heritage as a means of creating a sustainable economy that connects Franciacorta with other regions both nationally and internationally.
