Event Details

Event Date

25 Jun 2026

Start Time

20:30

On Thursday, June 25th, at 8:30 pm, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of John Dowland, an English composer and contemporary of William Shakespeare, the beautiful little church of Foina in Monticelli Brusati will host a concert featuring his most representative works, particularly those drawn from his love songs.

In 2006, John Dowland was the focus of Sting’s album Songs from the Labyrinth, which reinterpreted the composer’s most famous pieces from the court of James I of England, a testament to the exceptional modernity of his music.

The public is invited to attend and get to know a composer who, 400 years later, continues to move audiences with his music. Translations of the lyrics will be available in the hall so that attendees can fully appreciate the words and atmosphere of his compositions.

Free admission.
