From Saturday, September 12th to Sunday, December 6th, the new Exhibition Hall at the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation House Museum in Cellatica is hosting the exhibition “Magnifica Eleganza. Tiepolo, Longhi and Guardi: Art and Fashion”.

The exhibition explores 18th-century Venice through the works of Giambattista Tiepolo, Pietro Longhi, Francesco Guardi and Pietro Antonio Rotari, creating a dialogue between painting, fashion and costume.

Dresses, precious fabrics, accessories and masks reveal how clothing was, at that time, an important sign of identity and social status. Alongside the paintings, 18th-century dresses and some famous costumes created by Danilo Donati for Federico Fellini’s “Il Casanova” are also on display, creating a striking link between historical Venice and the Venice imagined by cinema.

An exhibition dedicated to 18th-century Venetian elegance, high society and taste, offering a chance to rediscover, through art, the society and fashions of an extraordinary era.

Admission fee applies, by reservation only.
