\nThe castle and the drawbridge<\/strong> \u2013 Probably the oldest castle in Franciacorta, it dates back to before the year 1000 and preserves traces of its original medieval structure. Once surrounded by a deep moat, it enclosed the fortified village and the Parish Church of Santa Maria. To the north, two tower houses can be seen, while to the south the long body of the castle stands out, with the 14th- century drawbridge that leads to the parish church square.
\nParish Church of Santa Maria Maggiore <\/strong>\u2013 Nestled within the old castrum, the Parish Church of Santa Maria is one of Erbusco\u2019s hidden treasures. Originally built in the 12th century atop a pre-Romanesque sacred site, it combines Romanesque and Renaissance elements. Deconsecrated in the 19th century, the building was used as a theatre, storage space, and even a shelter during the Great War, before being restored and reopened for worship in the 1920s. Its apse still preserves valuable frescoes. As the village expanded, the new Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta was constructed, its imposing fa\u00e7ade overlooking the old town, complemented by an elegant and picturesque staircase.
\nFormer Convent of San Bernardino <\/strong>\u2013 Of the ancient convent founded in 1465, only a few original elements remain today including the portico with three arches supported by columns made of Sarnico stone.
